8. OG Anunoby - New York Knicks
After coming aboard mid-season in a trade with the Toronto Raptors, OG Anunoby became a key cog for the New York Knicks. He started in all 32 of his games, both regular season and playoffs, and left a mark every time he touched the floor. Now, he will almost certainly decline his $18 million option to seek a larger, longer deal.
The Knicks will be tasked with trying to re-sign him once free agency begins, a very obvious decision. Anunoby dealt with injuries upon coming to New York, but just about every Knick did. When he played, he was a tremendous two-way force, providing scorer and tough defense. He's one of the NBA's most versatile wings, and keeping a player with that reputation would be beyond reasonable.
Just about every team in the league would love to have Anunoby, so the Knicks will not be alone in trying to secure his services this off-season. If they don't play their cards right and possibly try to lowball the forward financially, he could very well leave. Teams with cap space might not be afraid to spend. It'd be tough to imagine the Knicks letting him walk, though.
A healthy Knicks team running it back next season could be a dangerous championship contender.
