The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is where the best basketball players are enshrined. Half a dozen former players, coaches, and contributors are inducted each year. Despite that, the Basketball Hall of Fame has come under fire for being far too lenient with who they let in.
Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame is considered to be the gold standard, followed by the National Football League's Hall. That leaves the Basketball Hall of Fame a distant third, with them notorious for putting in borderline Hall of Famers instead of having a rigid set of standards.
Virtually every player who has amassed 20,000 points or made at least five all-star teams makes it.
