Stephen A. Smith crossed the line when going after Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans. The team responded, and Smith clapped back in embarrassing fashion, proving the Pelicans were right to do what they did.

Stephen A. Smith, the face of ESPN, just got served the ultimate form of humiliation, all thanks to the social media team of the New Orleans Pelicans. In typical fashion, he responded back childishly.

Smith's repeated criticism of Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson may have finally reached a breaking point. Last Friday, Smith spoke about Williamson's eating habits, this coming months after Smith proclaimed, "Williamson was popular in the local restaurant scene and that he’d eat the table." Smith was supposedly joking.

Naturally, the Pelicans had enough, and decided to fire back at the pundit, dragging out old clips of Smith's failures in several athletic events, including shooting against James Harden, the failed first pitch, and the infamous slip during the most recent Celebrity All Star Game practice, right before the game.

As if we could also forget, Smith lost the Celebrity Game against First Take co-host and NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe and proceeded to make excuses the following episode of First Take after bragging in the days prior that Sharpe had no chance. It was Smith's second straight defeat as a Celebrity Game HC, the previous one coming against Michael Wilbon in Chicago a few years prior.

As is typically the case, Smith just had to respond, and he did so in the way you would expect. A loud, angry, and somewhat childish retort because he couldn't handle a joke being made at his expense.
