NBA Trades: Warriors throw caution to the wind in a risky proposed deal with Bulls
By Cal Durrett
Thus far, the Golden State Warriors haven't made a major move to improve their roster after failing to make the playoffs last season. While they are reportedly trying to acquire a star, their pursuit appears to be on hold for the time being. However, if their primary trade target doesn't materialize, they could turn to the Chicago Bulls to make a late-summer deal.
The Bulls appear to be picking a direction, with them agreeing to sign and trade star DeMar DeRozan to the Sacramento Kings as well as shipping off Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Josh Giddey. The Bulls decision to trade some of their best players likely has a lot to do with owing a top-10 protected first-round pick in 2025; otherwise, the pick becomes top-8 protected in 2026 and 2027.
The 2025 NBA Draft is also expected to be far better than the 2024 draft, with a potentially generational prospect likely to go number one. That leads us to a proposed deal by Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report involving the Warriors and Bulls that could help Golden State improve and the Bulls rebuild. Up next, we'll take a look at the deal and see if it makes sense for the Warriors and Bulls.
