NBA Trades: Warriors add a star, and Kings add a top prospect in a possible Jazz deal

NBA Trades: Warriors land a star, Kings add a top prospect in a potential deal with Utah.

The potential deal would have the Warriors send Utah Kevon Looney, Gui Santos, Moses Moody, a 2025 top 5 protected first, a 2027 top 5 protected first, and a 2026 second rounder from the Hawks via the Warriors for Lauri Markkanen. The Jazz would also receive Colby Jones, a 2028 first rounder, and a 2030 first-round swap from the Kings.

The Warriors would also send the Kings Jonathan Kuminga. That six-player, three-team deal would radically change the Warriors, Jazz, and Kings, with the Warriors moving four players, two firsts, and a second to get a star to pair with Steph Curry. The Jazz would seemingly get a haul for their best player, and the Kings would get a potential future star in Kuminga.

Pincus' deal would seemingly work out for all three teams but there are potential roadblocks, with the Warriors possibly not wanting to move Kuminga, especially to the Kings, while the Kings may not want to have to pay a top prospect a big extension.

Then there's the Jazz, who may want to build around Markkanen instead of moving him and hitting the reset on a reset that was already in progress. Next, we'll examine the deal from the Jazz' perspective, followed by the Kings, and lastly, Golden State.
