NBA Trades: Would the Magic agree to the deal?

The Magic were one of the worst shooting teams last season, and that understandably impacted their offense, with them ranking 22nd in offensive rating. However, adding Simons, who is an elite shooter, could dramatically improve the Magic's offense.

Simons has shot 38.8% from three on 8.5 attempts per game over the last three seasons. Slotting him in at point guard for Orlando could be a dream fit, with Simons capable of playing off-ball while Paolo Banchero or Franz Wagner handle the ball. Or he can create for himself and others out of the pick and roll.

Adding him, in addition to KCP, would allow the Magic to shore up their biggest weaknesses and possibly help them take a big leap forward next season. While they would probably still be behind the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Milwaukee Bucks, they could compete for the fifth seed and be better positioned for the playoffs.

Better still, Simons is only 25 and fits the Magic's window, allowing them to compete now while also being able to outlast older teams like the Sixers and Bucks and eventually overtake them. It will cost the Magic a recent lottery pick and two firsts but Simon's fit makes enough sense for them to agree to the deal.
