Heat-Spurs trade

NBA Trades: Miami Heat add Keldon Johnson in mock deal with the Spurs

The hypothetical deal would send the Spurs' Keldon Johnson and the Chicago Bulls' 2025 second-round pick to the Heat for Duncan Robinson and a 2026 first (top-10 protected). It's an intriguing deal for both teams. The Heat would get a talented young player in Johnson who averaged 22 points per game back in 2022–23 before being demoted to the bench last season. Even still, he averaged 15.7 points in 29.5 minutes per game.

The Spurs moving on from him and bringing back Robinson and a pick could make sense considering he is one of the better shooters in the NBA and San Antonio isn't a good shooting team. They also have been collecting first-round picks like Dragon Balls and would surely have an interest in Miami's 2026 first.

There are reasons for both the Heat and the Spurs to consider the deal, especially Miami, who risks running it back with a team that underperformed last season. Shaking up their roster may make for a better team in both the short term and the long term. That is all well and good but would the Heat and the Spurs consider the trade as is? Next, we'll look at the trade from the Heat's perspective and see if they'd do it.
