NBA Trades: Crafty mock deal sees the Heat salvage their summer with help from Spurs

The Miami Heat had a surprisingly quiet offseason after an underwhelming 2023-24 season, which saw them get bounced in the first round of the playoffs. In their defense, they didn't have a lot to work with with them being close to the second apron. However, they do appear to have another draft steal on their hands and have Jaime Jaquez Jr., who may make a big leap during his second season.
With limited improvement, they may not be much better than last season. Compared to dramatically improved teams such as the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers, they have fallen further behind in the Eastern Conference.
Add in the rumors surrounding Jimmy Butler and the Heat may have to make a move sooner than later. That leads to an interesting mock trade involving the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs, despite a potential logjam on the wing, could use more spacing.
The Heat have just the player that would help them. Meanwhile, the Spurs have a player that might interest Miami. Next, we'll take a look at the possible trade and see if it makes sense for both sides.
