NBA Trades: Cleveland Cavaliers

One underrated winner of the NBA offseason was the Cleveland Cavaliers, who were viewed as major trade targets with rumors surrounding Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Jarrett Allen. Fortunately for the Cavs, they still have all three players after they were able to re-sign Mitchell and Allen to extensions.

In fact, Allen now being under contract for four years should make him more valuable since teams know that he will be locked in for the long haul for a reasonable price. The New Orleans Pelicans seem like the most likely trade partner and the Utah Jazz could be roped in for a 3-team deal.

The deal could go something like this: The Cavs send Caris LeVert and Allen to the Pelicans for CJ McCollum, a 2025 first, and the Pelicans trade Brandon Ingram to the Jazz. In return, they send John Collins to the Pelicans and to the Cavs', their 2025 first back, as well as Walker Kessler.

In short, the Cavs send out LeVert and Allen and get back CJ McCollum, Kessler, and two firsts. That seems like fair value for the Cleveland, with McCollum still playing at a high level and capable of being a Sixth Man. Even if he doesn't work out, he'd give them a huge expiring contract after next season. They would also add Kessler, giving the Cavs another nice asset from the deal.
