NBA Trades: Portland Trail Blazers

For a team that finished with 21 wins last year, the Portland Trail Blazers have a lot of solid players that other teams might want. That could make them prime sellers ahead of the start of the 2024-25 season. Two players in particular, Anfernee Simon's and Jerami Grant's, should interest them the most.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been rumored to be interested in Grant and they may offer Rui Hachimura, D'Angelo Russell, and a 2029 top three protected first-round pick before him. That will give the Lakers a third scoring option who can also defend big wings, both of which should help them as they try to compete during what may be perhaps LeBron James' final year in the NBA.

Hachimura and Russell may not help the Blazers much given their age and that Portland may try to tank next season. Nevertheless, they can potentially try to flip both players near the trade deadline for second round picks or even first round picks if they are willing to take back bad salary.

However, the star of the trade would be that 2029 top three protected Lakers first round pick, which could very well be a high lottery pick with the uncertainty surrounding L.A. post-LeBron.
