Suns-Bulls trade

NBA Trades: Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns remain handcuffed due to the second apron but have had a decent offseason, nonetheless. They signed starting point guard Tyus Jones for the minimum after his market dried up. That was actually a huge get for them considering their need for a point guard to help get stars Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal easier shots.

That big three was better than advertised last season, going 26-15 during the 41 games they played together. If they can play a similar level next season with them over even 60 games, then they would go 38-22. When factoring in their record when at least one of those players sat, the Suns could have easily won 50 games last season

That would be good enough for the fourth seed in the Western Conference and would likely get them a favorable first-round matchup, dramatically increasing their chances of a long playoff run. So would making another deal to try and shore up the roster makes sense.

After adding Jones, point guard should be covered but they could still use another defender, and the Chicago Bulls might have one available in Jevon Carter. With the Bulls seemingly going in another direction and trying to get younger, swapping out Carter for Phoenix's Josh Okogie might make sense for them.

Meanwhile, Carter would make sense for the Suns given that he has playoff experience and is a talented defender, a decent ball handler and passer and a capable shooter. Given their financial constraints, he may be their most realistic trade option.
