NBA Trades: Miami Heat

The Miami Heat are in need of some trade help after doing very little to improve their underperforming roster and I think we have just the trade. They can send Duncan Robinson, Haywood Highsmith, and a top 3 protected 2029 first to the Washington Wizards for Kyle Kuzma. That deal would give them more offensive firepower.

They finished 21st in offensive rating last season despite being a top 5 defense. Even an average offense could have helped them climb in the ultra-competitive Eastern Conference and Kuzma averaged a career-high 22.2 points per game last season for the Wizards.

A possible starting five of Terry Rozier, Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, Kuzma, and Adebayo may be enough to help get them back into the mix in the East, even though they may still be behind the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks. As is, they probably max out as a seventh or eighth seed, but they do have room to grow.

The biggest question is whether they want to spend a first-round pick on a team that features Butler, who may not be playing in Miami next season. If they are willing to do so, Kuzma is on a very affordable contract that descends, giving Miami flexibility, even being able to trade him later on if they decide to go in another direction.
