OKC trade 2

The proposed deal sees OKC acquire center Jarrett Allen for Lu Dort, Kenrich Williams, and a 2025 first round pick. Allen can immediately step into the Thunder starting lineup, allowing Holmgren to slide over to the power forward spot and giving them a stout defensive frontcourt.

Given OKC’s struggles in the paint, adding a double-double machine like Allen fixes that problem in one go. He also brings a veteran presence in the frontcourt that the Thunder need. Allen could be a great mentor for Holmgren and help further his development as a big man in the NBA.

This deal also helps the Cavs fix their frontcourt redundancy and give Evan Mobley the chance to be the team’s starting center. With the team looking to shake up its roster amid an offseason full of uncertainty, this could be an avenue to doing that. With both teams having the motivation to do the potential deal, it's a possibility that it happens, but will both teams agree to the deal as is?
