NBA Trades: Nets land rising superstar from Rockets in spicy proposed summer deal
By Cal Durrett
After being forced to trade stars James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving, the Brooklyn Nets find themselves stuck in a limbo of sorts. While they have plans to go star hunting in the offseason, they have the eighth-worst record in the league but won't receive a lottery pick due to the initial deal that got them Harden.
With star Mikal Bridges to build around, they could theoretically land another star to help them right the ship. However, he will turn 28 this summer, increasing the need for a win-now move or two. Or the Nets could revisit a deal that was initially proposed by the Houston Rockets near the trade deadline.
That deal is looking like a no-brainer for the Nets and something the Rockets may still consider in light of recent developments and reporting. After being one of the worst teams in the league since trading Harden three years ago, the Rockets are finally on the right track and have a chance at making the play-in tournament.
Still, they will need more talent if they hope to get back into title contention in the near future. That leads us to an intriguing trade proposal that could potentially help both teams. Next, we'll take a look at the hypothetical deal.
