NBA Trades: Lakers bolster roster in huge proposed deal with Nets

In the hypothetical trade, the Lakers would ship out Rui Hachimura, D'Angelo Russell, Jalen-Hood Schifino, Taurean Prince, and a first-round pick to the Nets. The Nets would trade back Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O'Neale, and Spencer Dinwiddie to L.A. Were the trade to go down, it would be absolutely massive, with a combined $80 million in salary changing teams.

That being said, in this case, it may be beneficial to both teams, with the Lakers adding two three-and-D wings to their rotation as well as a starting point guard. Meanwhile, the Nets would reunite with Russell, who is playing great of late and had the best season of his career in Brooklyn. At just 27 years old, the Nets might be hoping that he'd continue his strong play going forward for them.

As for Hachimura, he is a more than capable rotation player, as is Prince, not to mention a future first-round pick might entice Brooklyn. Both teams seemingly have the motivation to do the deal but the Lakers are currently in trade talks with the Hawks and the Nets are possibly fielding offers from other teams, so it may not be as clear-cut. Next, we'll take a look and see if the Lakers will agree to the possible trade.
