NBA Trades: Lakers acquire Dejounte Murray guard in blockbuster 3-team proposal

In addition to Murray, the Lakers acquire Royce O’Neale in this trade scenario in order to replace Hachimura. O’Neale is a marksman from three-point range, as he has shot at least 37 percent in five of his NBA seasons.

He has struggled lately shooting-wise, which has caused his percentage to dip to 35 percent on the year, but he will get more quality looks playing next to playmakers like James and Murray. O’Neale shoots about 39 percent on catch-and-shoot looks as well, and the Lakers need as many shooters as they can get.

The Hawks get the better package they want in the form of Hachimura, Hood-Schifino, and draft compensation. They need to hit reset on this iteration of the team and this allows them to do so. They receive an all-around wing in Hachimura, who is under contract for three more seasons.

Hachimura has become a more efficient player over the last couple of seasons and has continued that trend this season. In addition to him, Hood-Schifino is a developmental guard with the potential to be a solid player in the NBA.

Lastly for the Nets, this is a move that should please them. They need more shot creators and offense in the worst way possible. The Nets are bottom five in the NBA in terms of offensive rating in their last ten games and their guard play has been porous. Spencer Dinwiddie is among the NBA’s worst in terms of field goal percentage and has proven he is not the answer at the starting spot. Enter D’Angelo Russell.

Russell has been on an absolute tear in his last seven games. He is averaging 27 points, and seven assists while shooting 54 percent from the field and 53 percent from three-point range as well. Russell is one of the more underrated point guards in the NBA today and he is exactly what Brooklyn needs. A reunion for both sides would be beneficial and we all know how great Russell was with the Nets in 2019.

Next. DLO. The Lakers should think twice about trading D'Angelo Russell. dark

If this trade were to go down, it would probably be the biggest one during the NBA season so far. This benefits all sides involved and would allow the teams to go in a positive direction moving forward.
