The worst-kept secret in the NBA right now is that the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to improve their roster. The Lakers have been in a funk ever since winning the NBA Cup at the beginning of December. The Purple and Gold have been middling 9–14 since December 9th and there are questions about whether or not this team is good enough to compete for a championship.

There are a lot of issues that are plaguing the Lakers right now. Their shooting has been subpar. The defense has been mediocre. The lack of consistent scoring off the bench. The list goes on and on. They cannot waste another year of LeBron James’ career. James is not getting any younger and is in his 21st NBA season. He is playing at a high level and the Lakers need to maximize the championship window they have with him.

Fortunately for LA, they have a solid foundation in place with the dynamic duo of James and Anthony Davis. They just need to work around the edges of the roster to make them a true contender.
