NBA Trades: Knicks land Mikal Bridges in potential blockbuster with Nets
The proposed deal sends Julius Randle and three first-round picks to the Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges. Bridges offers efficient shot creation at the wing that the Knicks desperately need and already has chemistry with Brunson, DiVencenzo, and Hart, as they were all teammates at Villanova.
Bridges can slide in at any forward spot and give the Knicks what they have been missing on the wing offensively. He also brings an elite defensive ability that will instantly make him a fit in head coach Tom Thibodeau’s system. Bridges is also very durable, as he has not missed a game in his entire NBA career.
This deal also allows for the Nets to embrace a rebuild, as they have been stuck in the middle for the past year and they could use more draft capital. While they do control the Phoenix Suns draft picks for the next few years, the Rockets control the Nets’ draft for the next few years as well, thanks to the James Harden trade.
With both teams having the motivation to do the potential deal, it's a possibility that it happens, but will both teams agree to the deal as is?
