Golden State Warriors

Arguably one of the more unlikely targets for Butler next summer may be the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors won't have cap space in the summer of 2025 but they have enough salary filler to make a sign and trade possible for Butler. They could offer up Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody in a double-sign and trade.

He would be an interesting fit on the Warriors, with both him, Jonathan Kuminga, and Draymond Green all rarely shooting threes. Then again, Steph Curry leads the league in 3-point attempts and they have similar plans for Brandin Podziemski, allowing them to play less traditional lineups.

Butler and Curry would be a tough duo to stop in the playoffs, to be sure, though Butler is about to turn 35 in mid-September and would be 36 years old by the start of the 2025-26 season. That would potentially give the Warriors a two-year window with Butler.

However, that assumes that he ages well and there is no guarantee that he will given the big minutes he played during his early 20s and deep playoff runs during his 30s. Still, the Warriors would be an intriguing landing spot if he hit free agency.
