Spurs Malcolm Brogdon

9) Malcolm Brogdon

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Malcolm Brogdon unexpectedly spent all of last season with their team after it was initially assumed that he would be dealt before the trade deadline. However, that didn't happen but it might this summer. The Blazers will likely increase 2023 3rd overall pick Scoot Henderson's minutes in year two and they will have the seventh pick in this year's draft as well.

Factor in that the 2025 draft will be headlined by top prospect Cooper Flagg and the Blazers might want to move on from their veterans to ensure playing time for their young players while also tanking for a top pick. That may lead to Brogdon being moved and the Spurs should register interest in him. Although he is one of the older players on this list, he is still only 31 and was terrific this season as a high-volume, high-percentage 3-point shooter, as well as a passer.

He also has one year left on his contract and he would probably cost less to acquire than most of the players on this list. The Spurs could offer up a matching salary in the form of Devonte Graham if they make the deal ahead of his guarantee date. Or they might guarantee Graham with the goal of trading him, as well as a first and that may be enough for an upgrade at starting point guard.
