12) Chris Paul

NBA legend Chris Paul has already indicated that he will return for his 20th season next year, but it is unclear where he will play. Paul currently has a non-guaranteed $30 million contract that the Golden State Warriors could use in a deal for a star this summer. Were that the case, the team that acquires Paul could opt to waive him or trade him again to a team in need of playmaking. The Spurs have already been linked to him and he would be a great potential fit were he to become available.

He would be a short-term option, with next season likely being his final year in the NBA, but he has proven time and time again that he is a culture-setter who can turn young teams into winners. He did so with the New Orleans Hornets, LA Clippers, and Phoenix Suns, and he could do the same with the Spurs.

In theory, the Spurs may acquire Paul, draft a point guard for the future, and have CP3 serve as a low-minute starter who helps whip the young Spurs into winning form next season. He is one of the best lob throwers in NBA history and if nothing else, he'd get Wembanyama several easy baskets per game.
