NBA Trade Rumors: Lakers targeting high-scoring guard.

The Los Angeles Lakers, like always, are expected to make a move ahead of the trade deadline this year. The Lakers have already been linked to Hawks star point guard Dejounte Murray but should they fail to land him, they appear to have a backup in mind. According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the Lakers are interested in Utah Jazz guard Colin Sexton as well as Washington Wizard guard Tyus Jones.

Sexton has played well this season and is known for his scoring ability, potentially making him an option for the Lakers, who have struggled to score at times this season. Obviously, their preference would be to acquire Murray, who is a more well-rounded player than Sexton, though Sexton would be the cheaper option since fewer teams are interested in trading for him.

Additionally, the Jazz and the Lakers completed a big mid-season trade last season, so it stands to reason that they could get another deal done almost a year later. Whether Murray, Sexton, or even Jones, it is clear that Los Angeles is looking for more ball-handling and shot creation around LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and they are likely to get it.
