NBA Trade Rumors: The Lakers are the favorites to land an all-star point guard.
The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to make a trade or two in the weeks that preceded the NBA trade deadline. Being that it's the Lakers, they have been linked to several stars, including Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and even Atlanta Hawks guard DeJounte Murray. In fact, according to Bovada Sports Books, the Lakers are the favorites to land Murray should Atlanta trade him.

Couple that with a new report and there may be some truth to that. According to Yahoo Sports' Jake Fischer, the Hawks are willing to trade every player save for Trae Young and Jalen Johnson, meaning that they are open to trading Murray. Whether that is to the Lakers is uncertain, since it is questionable whether they have enough to meet the Hawks' asking price.
The Lakers could offer D'Angelo Russell, a 2026 first-round pick swap and a 2029 top-five protected first. Moreover, Russell is a capable starting point guard and the Lakers probably aren't going to be a playoff team in 2026, with LeBron James either retired or on another team and Anthony Davis nearing his mid-30s. Still, the Hawks may ask for Austin Reaves instead of Russell, which could make the Lakers think twice about a deal so we'll have to wait and see.
