Hello hoops heads! Here are the latest in NBA trade rumors.
The Boston Celtics, despite having the best record in the league, are looking to bolster their roster. One potential option could be a former Celtic and current Utah Jazz big man, Kelly Olynyk. Olynyk is likely to be available before the February trade deadline and initially played for the Celtics from 2013–2017. He has since bounced around the NBA before settling in Utah.
With Olynyk on an expiring contract and the Jazz in rebuilding mode, they could look to deal him to a contender, and the Celtics are reported to have interest. Boston appears to be in the market for another big man, just in case Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford go down for an extended period during the regular season or postseason.
He is also a stretch big man who can knock down threes and attack closeouts. Add in that he is a good passer, and he could be an excellent acquisition for the Celtics as both an insurance policy and a bench upgrade. Despite that, matching salaries could be tricky for the Celtics, and they might need to entice a third team to help them, but it's possible and could be a nice addition for Boston were it to happen.
