Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry is still going strong in his 15th season in the NBA, but he may already have a post-playing career plan. During an interview with CBS' Jericka Duncan, Curry was asked about whether he would run for President of the United States, and he didn't rule out the possibility that he one day might. Take a look:

That is a surprising answer, though perhaps not a crazy one. Curry is wildly popular as a player, not only in California but nationally and even internationally. That gives him very high name recognition, something that not all politicians have. That alone could help his political future but when might that happen?

How long will Steph Curry continue playing for the Golden State Warriors beyond this season?

Curry wouldn't be the first all-star guard to run for political office, with former Phoenix Sun star Kevin Johnson having successfully run for Mayor of Sacramento, California. Johnson served eight years as mayor after his playing career was over.

Of course, Curry could still play for several more years, although he is 37 years old. Curry's game should age very well considering that he is the greatest shooter in NBA history and teams still can't shut him down. Moreover, with his current level of play, there shouldn't be a major dropoff if he decides to play for another couple of years. Not only that, but he could experiment with playing more off-ball, allowing him to expend less energy.

That bodes well for his future in the NBA, but it will likely postpone any run for political office. Curry himself ruled out 2028 as a possibility since he could still be playing in the leadup to that election. Based on the way that he is playing now, it may be several years before we potentially see Curry-in-Chief.
