It has been another incredible season for the NBA since the turn of the calendar year to 2024. We have seen many magnificent individual performances from some of the best basketball players in the world.

The NBA is home to the best basketball players in the world but there are only a few who can lay claim to playing at an MVP level and one annually gets to hold the MVP trophy at the end of the season as the best player of that season.

An MVP is someone who carries his team to victories when it seems all hope has been lost, a player who makes his teammates better, helps his team win at a high rate, and has defining iconic moments and performances that'll leave you in awe.

In this article, we'll be diving into my top five NBA MVP candidates, from Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia Sixers, who's been carrying them all season, to Giannis Antetokounmpo, who dropped 64 points against the Indiana Pacers last month, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who's leading the Thunder as a surprise top three team in the gauntlet that is the West. These players are just a few who have distinguished themselves from the pack. Let's start.
