Tier 1) The greatest point guards of all-time

2)Steph Curry

1) Magic Johnson

At the top of the point guard list are Steph Curry and Magic Johnson. There is increasing debate of who is better with Curry reigniting it after helping lead USA to gold in 2024. However, he hasn't quite surpassed Magic just yet. Magic led the Los Angeles Lakers to nine NBA Finals and won five championships in 13 seasons.

That type of success rate is virtually unprecendented with his incredible skill as a passer, leading the Showtime Lakers to dominance during the 1980s. He led the league in assists four times and still has the highest assists average for a career. He also won three league MVPs and three Finals MVPs.

Compare that to Curry, who has four championships, two league MVPs, and one Finals MVP. Championships aren't the end-all be-all and Curry was dominant in his own right as a scorer. Over the last nine seasons, Curry's posted 27.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6 assists per game, while shooting an outstanding 41.9% from three on 11.3 attempts.

A couple more seasons at that type of clip and the conversation surrounding Magic and Curry may tip in his favor but for now, Magic is the greatest point guard ever.
