Magic-Hawks trade

Grade the Trade: Orlando conjures up a Banchero co-star in a potential deal with the Hawks.

Bleacher Report's deal would send Trae Young to the Orlando Magic in exchange for Anthony Black, a 2026 and 2028 first-round pick and Wendell Carter Jr. That deal would be potentially big for both teams, with the Magic landing a significant upgrade at a position of weakness that also helps them with their biggest flaw, which is shooting.

Pairing him with a rising superstar in Paolo Banchero and a rising star in Franz Wagner would give the Magic one of the NBA's strongest 25-and-under cores. As for the Hawks, they would reset, moving their best player for a starter in Carter Jr., two firsts, and a recent top-10 pick in Black.

That haul, combined with the two firsts they received from the New Orleans Pelicans for Dejounte Murray in addition to another recent lottery pick in Dyson Daniels, would be a decent starting place for a rebuild.

They, of course, don't own their own picks for the next three drafts due to the trade that netted them Murray in the first place but the potential assets from this deal, the haul received from the Pelicans, and number one overall pick Zaccharie Risacher would give them a chance to reshape their roster. Next, we'll take a look at whether the Magic and Hawks would agree to the trade.
