Lakers -Hawks Trae Young

Grade the Trade: The Lakers land Trae Young from the Hawks this summer.

The hypothetical deal would send Trae Young to the Lakers in exchange for Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Austin Reaves, and the Lakers' 2025, 2029, and 2031 unprotected first-round picks. That is a doozy of a deal that would see L.A. move not only their best young player in Reaves but three firsts.

Be that as it may, landing Young would be a massive get for the Lakers, who would suddenly have three players capable of scoring 25 points per game, including Young. That would seem like it would be hard to do but Young is one of the best passers in the NBA and Anthony Davis could feast on the lobs that he tosses when operating in the pick and roll. LeBron too.

Still, the decision to ultimately trade Young would be Atlanta's and they played hard ball ahead of the trade deadline, which forced Los Angeles to pull back on their pursuit of another Hawks star, Dejounte Murray. Next, we will take a look at whether the Lakers and Hawks would actually agree to the proposed deal and grade the trade.
