Blast from the Past: 4 realistic Lakers moves to reunite them with ex-players

2) Kyle Kuzma
Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma spent three seasons with the Lakers to start his career before being traded for Russell Westbrook. That didn't clearly work out for the Lakers, with Kuzma developing into a high-scorer, averaging 22 points per game last season, while the Lakers pawned Westbrook off on the Utah Jazz while having to give up a first-round pick to do so. Now, the Lakers could look to re-acquire Kuzma, though it may cost them another first.
A package of D'Angelo Russell, Cam Reddish, and a top-5 protected 2029 first for Kuzma would help the Lakers add a third-scoring option to help ease the offensive load on LeBron and Davis. As far as cost, the Lakers don't seem married to Russell, and getting a consistent scoring option for a future first-round pick might well be worth it to L.A.
For Washington, Russell could later be moved for a couple of seconds to a team in need of play-making and shooting, while that first-rounder may prove to be a very valuable asset. After all, LeBron will be 43 and Davis will be 36 years old in 2029, meaning the Lakers could be bad and that pick may be good. Thus, this might be a win-win deal for both teams.
