5) LeBron James-Kevin Durant
Long-time rivals LeBron James and Kevin Durant will once again partner to try and bring home the gold for the United States. Both will be back for their fourth Olympics, with LeBron going for his third gold and Durant going for his fourth.
It would have once seemed unthinkable for one, let alone two NBA stars, to play in four Olympics but both players have aged like fine wine. LeBron is still going strong and will return for his 22nd season, while Durant is coming off his healthiest season in five years, playing 75 games while averaging a staggering 27.1 points.
Having experience is one thing for Team USA with several first-time Olympians such as Steph Curry, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, and Tyrese Haliburton, but both superstars can still play and will probably start alongside each other. Having a 6'8 small forward and a 6'10 power forward will allow coach Steve Kerr to play big without sacrificing shooting.
Durant, in particular, could thrive playing the four with a shorter 3-point line, while LeBron could thrive playing alongside Durant and Steph Curry. They will guarantee wide driving lanes, with opposing teams not daring to leave two of the best shooters in the world open. As a result, they could be the most intriguing Team USA pairing to watch this summer.
