5 top-remaining NBA free agents that would be perfect last-minute adds to a contender

4) Cedi Osman
Wing Cedi Osman has yet to find a team, despite playing well for the Spurs last season. Osman provided them with a reliable shooter who played with energy in the second unit. However, with San Antonio having several wing prospects and the addition of Harrison Barnes, he was an odd man out and now finds himself without a team in September.
Osman is still young enough at the age of 30 to help a contending team and would be a useful bench piece considering his effectiveness as a microwave scorer. With roster spots drying up, Osman might have a hard time getting signed for more than the minimum, let alone making an actual roster.
That is surprising because he can clearly still help a team, even as a deep bench player. Then again, a new crop of rookies have entered the league and more and more roster spots being taken by veterans who are playing well into their 30s or prospects trying to earn a role.
In fact, thanks to two-way contracts giving second-round picks and undrafted players another chance to prove themselves, more and more NBA spots are being filled by players who previously would have never cracked an NBA roster. That leaves players like Osman to try to compete for an increasingly small share of roster spots and it is looking like he is going to be an odd man out unless he is given a shot to make a roster ahead of the regular season.
