Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs

Arguably the most likely of this group to be the new face of the league, Wembanyama lived up to expectations in his rookie season. In many ways, Wemby exceeded expectations regarding his rookie season, which is remarkable considering he was dubbed 'the best prospect since LeBron'. The French phenom averaged over 20 points, 11 rebounds, and nearly four blocks per game for San Antonio. Wemby also developed an underrated level of playmaking, adding four assists per game.

Known for his never-before-seen skillset for his height (7 feet 4 inches) and near automatic rim deterrence, Wemby quickly had 'all eyes on him' for his first season in the NBA. Not only did Wembanyama deliver on his expectations, but he continues to carry himself like a true superstar. When asked about his performances or the team, he never fails to take ownership of losses, team performances, and his performances. His leadership and striving for greatness are easily visible.

These traits, among several others, are reasons Wemby could become 'the next LeBron James' for the league. The rookie sensation became a needle mover instantly, increasing San Antonio's nationally televised games and media coverage. With Wembanyama on San Antonio's roster, they have emerged as one of the NBA's best young cores, with expectations exponentially growing. Add in veteran acquisitions Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes, and the Spurs could be a sneaky play-in team.
