2) Orlando Magic

The only Eastern Conference team in this category, the Magic were one of the league's big surprises this season. Finishing fifth in the East, the Magic lost in seven games to the Cavs in the first round of the playoffs. While Orlando's defense is among the league's best, the Cavs exploited a few holes in Orlando's roster. To become a contender atop the East, the Magic need to fill those holes.

Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner create one of the league's best young duos. Jalen Suggs finished the season as an All-Defense Second Team member, but the rest of the roster could use some tweaks.

Orland still needs to improve their roster drastically in the back court and did manage to add Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency. They lack an efficient playmaking guard, as Paolo Banchero led the team in assists per game (over five), as the only rostered playing averaging over four assists. Franz Wagner was second on the team in assists per game, averaging just under four. For context, Joe Ingles was third on the roster with three assists per game, as a player who only saw the floor for 17 minutes per game.

The Magic are in desperate need of playmakers, but also shooting and Caldwell-Pope is a potential upgrade in both areas.
