14) Caron Butler

One-time NBA star Caron Butler was selected 10th overall by the Miami Heat and in the first two seasons of his career, he was seen as a crucial member of the Heat's young core, along with Dwayne Wade and Lamar Odom.

Nevertheless, when Shaquille O'Neal became available following the Lakers loss to the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Finals in 2004, Odom and Butler were a part of that massive trade that sent Shaq to the Heat, but Butler only lasted a season in Los Angeles before being traded again to the Washington Wizards.

There, Butler developed into a star, playing alongside two other stars, Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jameson, and forming a big three. During the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons, Butler posted 19.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. That across-the-board production helped him make consecutive All-Star teams.

Unfortunately, that proved to be the peak of his career. He was shipped to Dallas and expected to be a key contributor but only played 56 games over his season and a half there. He missed their championship run in 2011 but still received a championship ring to solidify his career.
