The second half, or rather final third, of the 2023–24 NBA season is underway following the All-Star break. After the week long breather, fans shouldn't have to go a single day without hoops until the end of the regular season.

At this point in the year, most teams and players are known quantities. There's a good sense of who will be vying for the MVP crown and which teams have a legitimate shot to take home an NBA title at the end of the spring.

There's a reason they play the games, though. With wear-and-tear and injuries coming into play, as well as teams falling out of contention and shifting priorities, there are opportunities ahead for players to emerge during the final portion of the campaign.

Let's take a look at three under-the-radar candidates to break out during the final months of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Especially for teams with little to play for but pride and draft position, mining the roster for a breakout candidate could be a fun way to conclude the season and provide a dose of hope for future campaigns. They could also provide some sleeper candidates for fantasy basketball rosters.

Some things will have to click for the players below to break out during the home stretch of the season. If they manage to do so, however, they will give their organizations and fans another thing to cheer about as the year wins down.
