No. 1: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Our final entrant is the boldest one, but not all that far-fetched. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a Top 5 player in the NBA, and those players do not change teams very often. When they do, they often shape the entire tenor of the league for years to come.

Antetokounmpo has maintained pressure on the Milwaukee Bucks front office to field a competitive team, and what they have put together is questionable at best. Giannis and Damian Lillard have only played limited minutes together; can they thrive together?

Given the age of the core and their collective injury history, not to mention question marks around head coach Doc Rivers, it’s not out of the question that things fall apart quickly in Milwaukee. Once that happens, Antetokounmpo would be a candidate to ask for a trade.

Teams would line up out the door to trade for Antetokounmpo. Despite his relative lack of shooting, he is a force with the ball in his hands, an underrated playmaker, and a defensive maelstrom. The Bucks would get back a hearty package to begin their rebuild.

Whether it’s Brandon Ingram, Jimmy Butler or Giannis Antetokounmpo, or someone we never expected at all, odds are there’s another domino waiting to fall somewhere in the NBA.
