3 Reasons Victor Wembanyama will crash the NBA's top 10 players sooner than you think
2) He's becoming much more comfortable offensively.
Wembanyama is a gifted offensive player as well, probably the most gifted we've seen of anyone his size in the history of the sport. To start the season off, Wembanyama wasn't the most efficient player, as he was still trying to figure out his way in the NBA.
Since the turn to 2024 Wembanyama has been much more efficient as of late, averaging 20.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 49% from the field and 40% from three. He's also doing that averaging just 28 minutes per game.
His per-36 numbers are those of a prime Hakeem Olajuwon and Tim Duncan! When Wembanyama plays 36+ minutes, he's averaging a staggering 26.0 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while also being a defensive anchor evaporating shots (4.0 blocks per game) and swiping away 1.4 steals per contest.
It's scary how good he is already offensively and he's still a baby just learning to walk in the NBA. Imagine once he understands concepts better, gets stronger and improves his long-distance shot more. ... Game over, because he's something we've never seen before.
