Gary Trent Jr. - Milwaukee Bucks

When the offseason began, no one could have predicted that Gary Trent Jr. would end up settling for a minimum deal. Trent felt like a player destined to earn $10 million-plus annually, but with the market seemingly not materializing in his favor, he opted to settle for a prove-it deal with a contending team, signing a one-year deal worth just a tick over $2 million with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Milwaukee is a great landing spot for Trent. In all likelihood, he will be their starting shooting guard on opening night, and playing alongside offensive talent like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard is a dream for a perimeter shooter. With how many open looks Trent will get playing next to those two, the stellar 3-point shooter should thrive offensively.

Over the last three and a half seasons with the Toronto Raptors, Trent has averaged 16.4 points and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 38 percent from deep on an average of seven attempts. Those simply are not numbers worth a veteran's minimum contract, highlighting how lucky the Milwaukee Bucks are that they got him on such a team-friendly deal.

This is a signing that could go down as an all-timer for the Milwaukee Bucks if Gary Trent Jr. lives up to expectations in 2024-25 as the team looks to prove its doubters wrong. In addition to Trent, they added other strong pieces on minimum deals, including Delon Wright and Taurean Prince.
