21 up-for-grabs players who may play a starring role in NBA trade deadline rumors
By Dalton Sell
Cam Johnson, Brooklyn Nets
This is the last Brooklyn Net on this list. After shockingly trading Mikal Bridges earlier this offseason, rumors were swirling that the Nets were also testing the market on Cameron Johnson. While nothing has materialized, interested teams will remain in pursuit leading up to the deadline, where the Nets may hold out for the best available offer if they are indeed willing to move him.
Johnson could be a significant addition to any team. The 28-year-old has taken legitimate strides in his development over the past three years, averaging 13.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists while hitting 40.7 percent of his triples on six attempts per game. A 6-foot-8, sweet-shooting forward like that could beef up any contender's rotation or help a young team make a leap in the standings.
Making $23.6 million in 2024-25, Johnson doesn't have the most affordable contract for most teams, but he can still be marked down as a realistic trade target. Due to his skills, plenty of teams could be willing to go all-in to land Johnson. Yet, due to all of that, it would likely take a king's ransom for the Nets to trade him, as he may be their best current asset after the Mikal Bridges deal.
