P.J. Tucker, LA Clippers
Since coming to LA alongside James Harden early last season, things haven't really worked out well for P.J. Tucker.
Tucker averaged just 15 minutes per game last season, the fewest of his career since his rookie year in 2006-07. He only appeared in 28 regular season matchups, essentially not being factored in the LA Clippers' rotation whatsoever. There were rumblings of the Clippers trying to shed Tucker's salary last season, and they will certainly try to get him off the books again leading up to the trade deadline.
At this point in his career, teams will not be banging down the door for a 39-year-old forward who put up 2.5 rebounds and 1.6 points per game last season. Instead, it's more likely that any trade involving the forward involves a team looking to take on Tucker's deal with draft assets attached. Set to take in $11.5 million this year, Tucker's contract is not cheap, so the Clippers will have to pay up to move it.
Does Tucker have anything left in the tank? After scarcely playing last season, it's tough to say. Given that he's unlikely to see a prominent role with Los Angeles, he would almost undoubtedly welcome a change of environment to showcase his talent. Nearing 40, this could also be his last year playing in the NBA, so perhaps he wants to go out with a bang and give it his all.
