27) Minnesota Timberwolves-Carlton Carrington

After a deep playoff run, the Minnesota Timberwolves don't have many holes to fill and certainly don't have much wiggle room to fill them, but they could look to address their point guard situation in the draft.

Their current starting point guard, Mike Conley, is 37 years old and may be entering the final year of his career. While they may not find an immediate replacement for him in the starting lineup, they could take a look at Carlton "Bub" Carrington.

Carrington projects to be a microwave scorer and a solid facilitator after putting up 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. He may be more of a combo guard in the NBA than a traditional point guard but that might still work for the Timberwolves since they have Anthony Edwards.

At 6'5 and still only 18 years old, he has size and room to grow on both ends of the floor. Early on, he could carve out a role in Minnesota's second unit, allowing him to play on-ball for stretches and get going by utilizing his impressive pull-up mid-range jumper.

Assuming that he improves as a three-point shooter, he could even spend time playing alongside Edwards, with them sharing playmaking responsibilities. Considering that the Wolves have the highest payroll in the NBA, they need to find a cheap, young prospect with room to grow and Carrington might be it.
