23) Phoenix Suns-Carlton Carrington

Given how they gutted their roster to form the big three of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal while trading most of their draft picks to do so, the Phoenix Suns definitely need to find a contributor with the 23rd pick in this year's draft.

Although they might decide to trade the pick, should they decide to hold onto the selection, Carlton Carrington would be an intriguing option, given his potential as a microwave scorer. He put up strong numbers across the board, averaging 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists.

The Suns can use a traditional point guard, though he may need to adjust his game some. The Suns need someone to bring the ball up the floor and initiate plays while Booker, Beal, and Durant create. Carrington will need to improve his 3-point shot but that seems doable since a lot of his attempts were off the dribble. Playing alongside three scorers would allow him to play more off-ball and hopefully be more reliable from outside.

To his credit, he has a nice pull-up jumper that he can consistently get off, which gives him a go-to weapon that he can use to get baskets. That makes him an interesting prospect, especially with him being one of the younger players in his draft class, giving him plenty of room to grow.
