13) Sacramento Kings-Jared McCain
A year after making their first postseason appearance in more than a decade, the Sacramento Kings failed to make the playoffs this season. Fortunately, they have the assets needed to improve their roster and get right back into playoff contention. They could start by drafting Jared McCain. McCain is one of the better shooters in the draft, posting terrific shooting splits.
He converted on 52.1% of his twos while also hitting 41.4% of his threes, not to mention that he can knock down both spotup threes and shots off the dribble in addition to shooting 88.5% from the line. Although he averaged just 1.9 assists per game, he is a better shot creator than that statistic shows.
At just 20 years old, there is room for McCain to grow in Sacramento, and he may replace their sixth man, Malik Monk, who may leave in free agency. Having a 20-year-old seemingly ready-made replacement seems like a smart use of a late lottery pick. Then again, the Kings may consider trading the 13th pick in a deal for a veteran but they might instead include a future pick and still be able to pick McCain.
