15 NBA players most at-risk of being traded this summer

4) Trae Young
With a rebuild appearing imminent, the Atlanta Hawks have resisted making Trae Young available in trade talks but that could soon change. The Hawks seemingly want to tear down their roster and retool around Young and Jalen Johnson but that will be hard to do for a couple of reasons.
The first is that the San Antonio Spurs have the rights to Atlanta's first-round picks from 2025–2027. That makes rebuilding through the draft much harder. Secondly, the Hawks aren't much of a free agency destination and they don't have the assets to trade for a star.
A possible offseason outcome is that they trade Young to the Spurs in exchange for some of their own picks. Or they could consider shipping him to the Los Angeles Lakers, who are expected to go hard after a star this offseason.
Either trade would allow them to properly rebuild instead of being handcuffed for the next three seasons and Young could either leave in free agency or demand a trade before then if they were to keep him. As a result, Young could very well be moved this summer.
