8) Wembanyama led the Spurs in four major categories.

What is likely the most overlooked aspect of Wembanyama's rookie season is that he led the Spurs in four major statistical categories: points, rebounds, steals, and blocks, and came in second behind Tre Jones in assists. That suggests that he can carry the Spurs by excelling in multiple aspects of the game.

Of course, his being able to do it all doesn't mean that he should have to do so. That being said, a superstar such as Nikola Jokic also leads his team in four major categories and has transformed the Denver Nuggets into perennial contenders despite not having the same level of talent as other teams. Wembanyama could do the same with his rapidly expanding offensive game and impressive passing ability.

On the other end, the Spurs were far better with Wemby on the court defensively and with an improved roster including internal development, he could be a force on that end too. If the Spurs play it smart, they could build around him, providing him with players to complement his strengths.
