The season is rapidly approaching, which means teams are gearing up for training camp before the season takes place. One of those teams, the Golden State Warriors, had a tumultuous offseason. The dynastic Warriors' long-lasting core ended abruptly when Klay Thompson left the team in free agency after an inconsistent 2023-24 season.
With Thompson gone, a 'new age' has begun for the Warriors, with franchise centerpiece Stephen Curry and future Hall of Famer Draymond Green still in the fold. Rumors swirled for most of the offseason regarding Golden State's activity in the trade market.
The team targeted Lauri Markkanen for much of the offseason, in addition to rumors regarding interest in Brandon Ingram. Now that Markkanen has re-signed with the Utah Jazz long-term, the team cannot trade its franchise cornerstone until the trade deadline. As for Ingram, he's set to play this year on an expiring contract, as the Pelicans cannot agree to a contract extension with its former All-Star.
Considering Golden State's pursuit of improvement on the trade market in the offseason, and the need to maximize Stephen Curry's championship window in a loaded Western Conference, below is a list of various trade targets for Golden State heading into next season.
