The New York Knicks have found another gear in the playoffs, and a big part of that has been the epic gameplay of OG Anunoby. He has always been a solid player. These days, he's hit a superstar-level rhythm that has elevated the Knicks, putting them on a collision course with an NBA championship.

Anunoby was born in London, England, but moved to the US with his family when he was four. His basketball journey led to him being drafted 23rd overall by the Raptors in 2017. He was a member of the roster when they won the franchise's sole championship in 2019 and stayed in Toronto until 2023.

In his last season with the Raptors, he was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team for the first time and was the league's steals leader. That defensive prowess was a big reason why the New York Knicks traded for him in December 2023, and he has certainly delivered in that regard.

Now in this third season as a Knick, Anunoby has proven to be a clutch member of the roster. He is the team's starting forward, a powerhouse on defense, and explosive when it comes to offense. As good as he's been in the regular season, playoff Anunoby is on another level.

OG Anunoby dominates the playoffs for the Knicks

Despite missing two games in the Philly series due to injury, Anunoby has remained one of the most reliable postseason players on the Knicks. He's averaging 19.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game. Plus, he's shooting 58.9% from the field and 50.9% from three.

Since losing back-to-back games to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, the Knicks have won ten straight playoff games. That includes sweeping the 76ers and being one game away from doing the same to the Cavaliers. No team can pull that off without everyone on the roster giving their best.

In the case of Anunoby, he has been giving more than his best, and none of the Knicks' opponents seem ready for him. That means he's diving after loose balls, taking charges, and hounding every member of their opponents' rosters until they cough up the rock. He's giving them absolutely nothing.

This season, Anunoby returned to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team, as well as helping the Knicks win the NBA Cup. Now, he's on the verge of taking New York to their first Eastern Conference title since 1999 and possibly their first NBA championship since 1973.
