NBA Trades: Spurs, Pelicans land superstars in proposed blockbuster with Bucks
The 3-team blockbuster trade would see the Pelicans ship out Zion Williamson to Milwaukee. In return, they would receive Pat Connaughton from the Bucks and Devin Vassell and a 2027 first-round pick from the Atlanta Hawks via the Spurs.
Meanwhile, the Bucks would add Williamson, Keldon Johnson, and two firsts, including the second pick in this year's draft and a 2029 first, also from the Spurs. Lastly, the Spurs would land superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
With Williamson and Giannis likely to be moved this summer, this deal might actually be a great trade for all involved. The Pelicans would get a starting guard with upside and a projected lottery pick via the Hawks, while the Bucks get Williamson, Johnson, the second overall pick, and another first.
As for the Spurs, they'd get the best player in the deal, a two-time MVP, although it would cost them a pretty penny. If they can, then they'd pair him with Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox. That could propel them into title contention, giving them incentive to make this deal, but would they? How about the Bucks and Pelicans? Let's find out next, starting with the Spurs.
