The Golden State Warriors have gotten off to an encouraging start to the season, though there are concerns about whether they can actually compete in the tough Western Conference. The Warriors didn't clearly get better this past summer while the floor of the conference has been raised.
After all, teams such as the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, and Memphis Grizzlies—all of whom missed the playoffs last season got better.
The Warriors may be better than expected but still face an uphill battle to make the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers are much improved after renovating their roster around superstar Joel Embiid and star Tyrese Maxey.
The Sixers are much improved but they are rumored to be interested in acquiring one of Golden State's best young players and have the assets needed to do so. Unlike most contenders, the Sixers have several first- and second-round picks to offer, including several from the James Harden trade, as well as expendable salary.
That would help them to make a deal with the Warriors or another team possible if it means improving their title hopes. Up next, we will take a look at a potential deal between the Warriors and Sixers and then see whether it makes sense for both teams.
